CITY COFFEE GUIDE
Approached us with a mission:
“To make the project recognizable and increase its expertise level.”
City Coffee Guide is an independent guide to Ukrainian third-wave coffee shops. Every year, they release an updated list of the hundred best coffee shops and roasters.
If you like coffee as much as we do, you surely have at least one copy.
Task scope:
  1. Renewing the book design
  2. Tone of voice
  3. Social project
  4. Coffee awards
  5. New SMM approach
  6. Updating the website
Renewing the book design
City Coffee Guide got a new look. We painted it in a fiery pink color that distinguished the guides on the bookstore windows. We prepared a complete illustrated guide design, made its pages interactive, and integrated partners onto our illustrated cover.
After our creative warm-up, we thought we shouldn’t end this story on the book’s first pages. We brewed more coffee and set on working.
Tone of voice
and new SMM approach

We made City Coffee Guide’s social media pages vivid, informative and unique. They became so memorable and honest – anyone would want to turn on the notification bell. Actually, our users did that.

Here is some of our new stuff:
—   best coffee shops from all over Ukraine;
—   loud events from the coffee world;
—   how to get into the guide;
—   interviews with baristas/celebrities, and much more.
See for yourself:
Social media pages started looking like a personal account of a real coffee guide who tells you all about the industry’s ups and downs and shares secret locations of the most delicious doppio.
Updating the website

We reinvented the website’s visual and navigational parts and introduced a blog — a platform for future coffee media.

Coffee awards
We created the first Ukrainian coffee awards, where coffee industry experts choose the best coffee shop, mini coffee shop, coffee roastery, coffee marketing, eco-coffee shop, and concept of the year.
Coffee needed more eyes drawn to it, and we just couldn’t stop: so let there be awards!
“Zerno” Awards
We created a video awards ceremony with a jury and 6 nominations.
Considering the pandemic obstacles, we couldn’t hold an offline event. We filmed a video announcing the winners and broadcast it live on YouTube, Facebook, and IGTV.
We published 5 materials in 4 Ukrainian media and gifted the “Coffee Roasting of the Year” winner a Nicaragua trip.
